Lo Schioppettino

Native red wine

Schioppettino is an intense and clean native Friulian red wine, made from hand-picked grapes grown in our vineyards in Tricesimo, at 250 metres above sea level. It is aged for one year in first-use French oak barriques and six months in bottle. Its colour is a bright ruby red with violet reflections.

The aromatic profile ranges from forest fruits such as blackberry and currant to more structured notes of ripe plum and cherry, supported by a balsamic note, with hints of black pepper and vanilla from oak aging. On the palate all the typical varietal aromas return, fruity and lightly spicy, balanced by silky, enveloping tannins and a natural acidity that counterbalances the variety’s intensity. Medium body and a long finish.
