Il Pignolo

Native red wine

Pignolo is a native Friulian red wine of great structure, born in our vineyards in Tricesimo at 250 metres above sea level, on medium-textured soils rich in marl. It is aged for one year in first-use French oak barriques, followed by six months in bottle. In the glass it shows a deep and intense ruby red colour with slight garnet hues.

On the nose it offers intense aromas of ripe sour cherry, plum and red fruits in spirit, accompanied by the balsamic and resinous nuances typical of the variety, with enveloping notes of tobacco, chocolate, oak and vanilla. On the palate it is structured and vigorous: the aromas are supported by pronounced tannins and a long finish, with distinct tertiary notes of tobacco, chocolate and spices.
